Finally, we have the first official information of Need for Speed Undercover!
While you already got a glimpse of what the next NFS is about at the website www.whichroadtotake.com, we have some more concrete information for you:

In NFS Undercover you play an undercover cop, which has the mission to infiltrate and takedown an international crime syndicate. The storyline is mission-based, so you have to take jobs and compete in races to prove yourself. Apart from you there is only one person, who knows the real identity of the player – your only contact to the outer world: Federal Agent Chase Linh. This person is played by the famous actress Maggie Q, which you might know from ‘Mission Impossible III’ or ‘Live Free or Die Hard’.

Need for Speed Undercover features a deep and engaging story of spectacular Hollywood-style live-action that will transport players into the fictional world of the Tri-City Bay Area,” said Bill Harrison, Need for Speed Undercover Executive Producer. “Working with talent the caliber of Maggie Q allows us to deliver an unparalleled level of storytelling that will keep players engaged in between 180-mile an hour races.”

In contrast to Pro Street you are once again a nameless character, so Ryan Cooper is history.   So far Electronic Arts didn’t want to reveal more of the story, but maybe this isn’t too bad as it would otherwise compromise the game experience. Generally Need for Speed Undercover is a rich, cinematic experience, which contains apart from the known actors the brother of Jessica Alba: Joshua and many more famours actors.

Undercover is being produced with Hollywood style shooting and production techniques. Famours writers take part in writing the story of NFS Undercover and Joseph Hodges is the director! So let’s hope that the efforts pays off and we can expect an exciting, movie-like story, embedded in the game!

Check back here on August 20th, as you will find our First Look of Need for Speed Undercover and lots of more information about the game!

HOW TO play red alert 2 on LAN August 7, 2008

I know red alert 2 is quite old…but this is one game which never lets you go once you start playin it….and its more fun when ur opponent is human..

1. Install IPX protocol, on the nextwork device that will allow networking. (anything from a crossover to a router to a switch to wireless everything will work)

How to: start – settings – Network and dial up connections – right_click on the network device – properties.
A new window will show up with a list of services and protocols. Click install and select add protocol. Select the NWlink IPX/(other protocols).

2. Now select properties of this new protocol. Internal Network should be 00000000. Under frame type, select 802.3, or experiment with 802.2 or ether II. Change number to a unique network value on both computers. ex: computer1, 00000001. computer2, 00000002. Click ok.

3. Find your MAC address: Start – Run – type ‘CMD’ – Command prompt appears. Type ‘ipconfig /all’ and the information of all network cards should scroll by. Find the network card you set up for IPX and note its MAC address. A MAC address looks like this: 00-1A-B4-A2-01-D1 (keep this for later)

4. Configure RA2: Options – Network, select the same MAC address in the drop down menu as you took in note the first time. Leave everything else as default (empty). If this fails, try selecting different socket numbers.

5. Re-install RA2: Only if nothing else works. That is a last resort, only if you have a software glitch somwhere that doesnt allow RA2 to recognise the new IPX configuration. In my case my original RA2 cd-rom didn’t work, but after removing it and installing an “illegal” version downloaded from the internet it worked! Probably due to the fact that it’s a “fresh” Red Alert 2 installation.

6. Have fun!

Leaked video of olympics 2008 rehearsal…. August 2, 2008

A Korean film crew gained access to the Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium yesterday to rehearse the Korean national broadcast of the Olympic Games. While the cameramen were inside, they secretly filmed a rehearsal of the opening ceremony, also being rehearsed at the Bird’s Nest. This video has been banned on the Chinese news site Sina.com and has been taken off YouTube in mainland China.

The Korean news report claims that the ceremony has been prepared for over 3 years and China has spent over $300,000,000 on, what according to the Korean station, is the most “magnificent, brilliant and mysterious” ceremony in Olympic history. The report claims the video features over 10,000 performers — kung-fu fighters, trapeze artists and traditional Chinese dancers — using the “most modern of laser technology” to execute the 10-second Olympic countdown. The only mystery still left for the opening is how the Olympic torch will arrive to the Bird’s Nest and who will be the final torch bearer.
